An Darach

An Darach

An Darach lies in a delightful woodland setting, on a quiet no-through lane just off the A835 Inverness to Ullapool road, making it an ideal base for touring the magnificent splendour of the Northern Highlands. A paradise for lovers of beautiful scenery, birds, wildlife, walking, climbing, golf, cycling and other outdoor pursuits. Ideal for those wanting to get away from it all but still only a 20 minute drive from the many and varied attractions of the vibrant city of Inverness.

Why waste time planning somewhere different to stay every night and then waste fuel and valuable hours of your holiday, driving from one B&B to another and living out of a suitcase? Leave your luggage at An Darach and spend the day exploring, safe in the knowledge that you are coming home every evening to comfortable and familiar surroundings.
Whether your stay with us is for business or pleasure, we aim to make your visit a relaxing and pleasurable experience.

An Darach is situated on the outskirts of Contin, which has a church, hotel restaurant, convenience store, garage and petrol station. Close by is the charming Victorian spa village of Strathpeffer, Rogie Falls, The Black Isle and countless other tourist attractions. There are numerous forest and river walks, with stunning views and an abundance of wildlife, almost on our doorstep. There is ample private car parking and secure storage for cycles, motor cycles and sports equipment.

An Darach, Contin Bed and Breakfast is open all year round, excluding Christmas, providing a very high standard of accommodation in lovely surroundings, ensuring a peaceful and relaxing stay.

The house, which is built on one level, has a lovely south-facing rear aspect overlooking a large garden where guests are welcome to wander or just sit and relax, bearing in mind the weather in this area is much better than the national weather forecasts would have us believe.

Breakfast

Whilst enjoying a hearty and wholesome breakfast at the farmhouse dining table, guests can enjoy watching the wide variety of birds attending the “all-day buffet” on the bird feeding station outside the dining room window and hopefully, the red kite and roe deer which are regular visitors to the garden.
We pride ourselves on the quality of our breakfast ingredients and wherever possible, we use local and seasonal produce.

To start we have a large selection of cereals or porridge, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad or freshly squeezed orange juice.
Followed by a freshly cooked Scottish breakfast including local free-range eggs cooked to your choice, bacon, local butcher’s sausage, award winning black pudding or haggis, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns or potato scones.

Alternatively you could try smoked haddock topped with a poached egg, scrambled egg with smoked salmon or a continental breakfast.

To finish there is wholemeal or white toast and oatcakes with honey, marmalade and home made preserves.

Freshly brewed coffee and tea, including decaffeinated, or an assortment of herbal and fruit infusions.

We are happy to accommodate most special dietary requirements, please advise when booking.

Packed lunches can be provided given adequate notice.

Ian and Linda look forward to meeting you and sharing their home.
