Welcome to Green Kite Trading, the Fair Trade shop in Strathpeffer. We stock a wide range of Fair Trade products from around the world as well as fairly traded quality Scottish produce sourced much closer to home. Whether you are looking for a gift, fashion, greeting cards, candles, jewellery, homeware or food items, no doubt you will find something to suit your needs. If an item of your choice is not available, we would be most happy to order it for you.

Here's a summary of what we have available:

Food: good quality teas & coffees, a huge selection of mouthwatering bars of chocolate, little packs with sweets, crunchy biscuits, healthy dried fruits, hearty muesli bars, fruity jams & chutneys, crispy peanut butter, beans & pulses, nutritious rice & pasta as well as nutty breakfast muesli.

Jewellery: a wide variety of delicate and colourful earrings, bracelets & necklaces, silver brochees and rings. Most of our beautiful jewellery is made in India, but we also stock Jewels of Hope - which are made by youngsters in Africa, as well as some fancy locally hand-made jewellery.

Gifts: lots of unique Christmas and after-X-Mas presents!

Crafts: wooden photo frames, jewellery boxes, wooden ornamentals, decorative cats, lots of pretty glitzy things, etc etc.

Homeware: ceramic mugs, recycled glass wine and cocktail glasses, aprons & tea towels, fibre, rice and bamboo baskets, salad bowls, scented candles, incense holders, stunning lampshades as well as a wide variety of cushion covers and duvet sets.

Children’s gifts & toys: wooden puzzles & jigsaws, felt purses, colourful bangles, keyrings, animal pencils, colourful dreamcatchers, and organic cotton soft toys.

Fashion: the best choice of scarves, alpaca woolen hats & gloves, stripey shirts, as well as trendy tops & skirts.

Bags & purses: we have a beautiful selection of women’s hand- and shoulder bags, chic purses and evening / party accessories.

Scottish Products

Apart from Fair Trade products from around the world we also stock a range of merchandise that are more locally sourced, such as soaps, cards, prints, jewellery and locally produced honey.

At Green Kite, our aim is not only to change lives of people in the developing world; we are also very keen to support Scottish artists and crafts people who work hard to make a living by using their creativity and skills to make wonderful or delicious products.

In our shop you will find prints and photographs from Iain Sarjeant, handmade soaps and bath salts from Strathpeffer Soap Co, using only vegetable oils, as well as the Shetland Soap Co, which is a social enterprise, jewellery from Helen Healy and cards from various local artists.
