Energyshare Update
Community Centre bidding for energy saving measures
Just an update on where we are with the energyshare funding.
We have decide to go for funding for energy saving measures rather than energy generation. Steven Watson of Community Energy Scotland visited the Centre and produced a report for us.
Because we do not have our own grid connection and we have a very favourable tariff, the economics of energy generation from photovoltaics do not add up. He recommended that we concentrate on saving energy.
Proposals include automatic opening and closing entrance doors, motion sensing light switches, lockable thermostats and improved loft insulation.
Our application is complete and will be submitted by the deadline of 30.09.11.
